Why defects are called as BUGS ?

Why , Why , Why the name BUGS ?
Why are defects, fault, error, mistake, failure called as BUGS in Computer Programming.

Read below Bugs as the usual bugs and BUGS as defects in the software.
 

1) Bugs in literal sense, are a menace , usually a cause of destruction. 

Successful sites have been known to be brought down because of BUGS

 

2) Bugs are found even in the most hygienic and clean place. 

No programming code, however clean can ever say that  there is ZERO defect and BUG free

3) Bugs grow exponentially.

Programmers pull their hair,when squashing one BUG three MORE are produced.

 

4) Everybody goes frenzy seeing bugs with ewwws and ishhhhhh. 

You should see the look on the developers face when notified of BUGS

Oh BOY ! Even if the developer thinks of going on a vacation and he is sent a list of BUGS

5) Bugs always resurface even when complete care is taken to eradicate them.

Bad codes without correction keep slipping in new releases producing the same BUGS.

6) Nobody wants to even look at a bug infested area. Software with BUGS, does not sell either.

7) There are a variety of bugs. Harmful and not harmful. 

To categorize the harmful effect of BUGS, they are categorized to Low priority/High Priority

8) life of bug : There is always one left  which you can never catch !!
